    G'day Folks,

Have a question for you fellow Inspiron owners out there.

My current 100GB HDD (5400rpm) is in need of replacing, primarily because I need something with a greater capacity.

I have seen a Western Digital drive on Ebay (link http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=290264565813) that looks like the type of Hard Drive I need. However, I am also curious if there is something out there that is bigger than 100GB that has a 7200rpm speed?

Also, is it difficult to install (i.e. Format, install Windows etc. etc) a new Hard Drive?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Cheers

Yes, the Samsung Hm160HC or the WD2500BEVE drive are the best options.
After doing that review, I have put just shy of 1000hrs of use on the Samsung drive and it runs perfect, just like brand new.
The Samsung drive is very quiet, an cool operating because it has only disc which means less moving parts, and thus less heat.

Its a great little drive. I got mine for $74 from lagoom, and now you can find it on google shopping for around $65-70 shipped.

The drive is literally just a pop in for your system. Your system will recognize all 160gb or 149gb (formatted)
Simply install the operating system, programs or files or use acronis true image.

    Good luck upgrading your system
