    Hi,
I've saved up a little money to spend on upgrading or buying stuff for my AW m9750 and narrowed it down to a few choices:

    1x 2gb ddr2 RAM
    http://www.dabs.com
    ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=4Q9N&CategorySelectedId=11150&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11150,385610000,48800000,4294959063&InMerch=1
and a Zalman nc-1000 notebook cooler pad

    or
    2x 2gb ddr2 RAM
    http://www.dabs.com/productview.asp...1150,385610000,48800000,4294959063,4294953914

    or
    1x 120gb 7200rpm seagate HD
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132380

and im basicly looking for advice on which to go with, i have a 120gb 7200rpm drive atm, and only use 80gb or so of it, but i was thinking i could put them in RAID 1 for better performance (though i would like to know if theres any way to set this up without having to reformat the HD's)

the notebook has 2gb of ram installed currently (2x 1gb), and was also think to upgrade to 3gb of ram or 4gb of ram, i know the m9750 limits this to 2.5gb so the 2gb stick is probably best, but ive been told a lot of times that ram works best in pairs, and was wondering whether there would be a bigger increase in performance if i went for 2x 2gb. though only getting the 1x 2gb allows me to get a notebook cooler pad aswel because i find it quite hard typing without a slant.

What OS are your running? Unless it is a 64 bit OS you won't be able to use all 4GB of memory.

You cannot setup raid without losing your data.

using 32bit windows vista, and oh well it was a long shot with the raid, but it still wouldn't be too bad, have all the disks and most of my stuff is backed up on discs
