    Looking for an external hard drive that has firewire 800

    Are you looking for a portable external hard drive or a larger one. You're going to have a really hard time finding any portal ones with a firewire port I think.

    I just did a quick search on Amazon and found this: Western Digital My Book Studio Edition 500 GB.
    Note that I own the My Book Home Edition and these hard drives aren't very small. But this one seems like it has a firewire 800 port.

    For 2.5" version also take a look at the WD Passport Studio. It comes with a FW800 connection as well as USB.

    You can get a FireWire 800 to FireWire 400 cable.
    I Got mine for pennies on Ebay
