I'm looking for upgrades to the stock Western Digital Scorpio 250GB hard drive that came with the Gateway P-6831FX, and was wondering about a few things:

    1. 2 x 160GB 7200rpm (single platters) vs 2 x 320GB 7200rpm (double platters) -- which is better performance-wise in RAID 0?

    2. Western Digital (Black) or Seagate (7200.3), assuming the above configuration?

    3. When might single-platter 320GB drives for notebooks be available?

    4. A subjective question, but how much hard drive space would you consider to be too little for a gaming laptop?

    Thanks.

    1. Both are the same, but the 160GBs will have a lower access time.

    2. Both are similar in performance, depends upon which you can get cheaper.

    3. After a long, long, long, long time.

    4. 80GB using Vista.
