Decided today to go ahead and get the Dell 1530 and forgo the higher res screen to get in on the new coupon deal.

I am now looking for a 22" widescreen external monitor with HDMI input. Was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for a good all around monitor, speakers not important. Thanks in advance.

The Dell 24 inch would go nicely with your new XPS. This way you could watch 1080p movies at full resolution.

Thanks for the reply, I am not getting the blue ray drive with the M1530, so the 1080P res would not be important, although in the future with an external drive it might be.

I found this monitor at newegg with good reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009094 but it would be nice to have a better stand that adjusted and this one did not have a HDMI. Would like to keep it under 300.

    Couple things

    1) That Acer is cheaper @ TigerDirect - they have it for $179.
    2) I own the HP 22inch LCD. (w2207)

I love the HP because it has the Bright View technology. This monitor has been rated the best in its class. It also has DIV (you can grab a cheap DVI to HDMI cable off eaby). Don't get an adapter - it makes things look more cluttered on your desk. The cable is the best thing to do!

I reccomend the HP 22 inch LCD - Circuit city has it for $329 - with free shipping. Make sure you use a coupon code - like 10% off or $40 off $199+ purchase.

Thanks for the links Koo. Looks like you have alot of flexibility in the adjustment of that monitor. Kind of confused about the coupon codes, is there a circuit city code for that monitor?

I don't see any right now - but if you decided to go with the HP don't buy it for the full price - I'm sure somthing will come up. I got mine form HP.com - 10% off + 20% cash back if I used PayPal. So I got it for aroudn $260 after tax + free shipping.
