I am doing some game benchmarking, validating performance difference with AMD Llano (A8-3510MX / 6620G) and Zacate (E-350 / HD 6310) IGP's with 2x4GB 1333 CAS 9, 2x4GB 1600 CAS 11, 1x4GB 1333 CAS 9, and preferably 2x4GB 1600 CAS 9. (well not for Zacate since it only recognizes 1066 and has single channel memory controller)
I'd prefer not to buy the RAM if I can help it. What I would like to do is basically ship you my DDR3 1600 Samsung 1.35V RAM with a postage paid return envelope so you can ship back your RAM to me to use for benchmarking. Once complete with benchmarking (only a few days) I will ship back your RAM with another postage paid envelope so you can return my RAM.
I will ship regular USPS first class mail to minimize cost, and you must live in the USA. I should have my initial findings posted soon, just would like to add the CAS 9 DDR3 1600 results to them.

Why not just edit your SPD with thaiphoon burner?
-
Because I don't want to risk bricking my RAM. I don't even know if it will run CAS9 at 1600. Plus doesn't it cost $20 something for the software?

That's true that it would cost money, but then I'm sure that you would find use for thaiphoon burner with every other notebook you get.
As far as bricking the ram goes, flash one stick at a time. That way if CAS9 is unstable, you could put in your other CAS10 stick and they would both run CAS10 allowing you to reflash the 'bad' stick.
Going to be interesting to see the results of your tests. -
Does the demo version allow you flash? I would think it would mainly let you "Play" with the features and not necessarily use them.

The last demo version that let you flash was 6.3.
You will find it attached to this post:

However that version probably wont support your chipset.
The latest demo version doesn't let you flash iirc. -
It looks more complicated than I'm willing to invest time in learning. I rarely ever care to do stuff like that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Meh, just ordered some G.Skill DDR3 1600 CAS9 RAM: Newegg.com - G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBSQ
Curiosity got the better of me. Plus I want to reformat my laptop but don't want to touch it until I run all the benches I am interested in completing. -

I knew as soon as I ordered it someone would come along... Murphy's Law.
Thanks though. There is a restocking fee ($7.50) + return shipping ($6.00) + double round trip postage ($4) + padded envelopes ($2), half the cost of the RAM, so will probably just keep it. -
So, what were the results?
If I simply swap the stock 1333 in my P750-BT4G22 with 1600, what should I expect? Will it recognize it?
Thanks -
You have an Intel system, this was for an AMD system, results will differ significantly.
-
@elgato. Today on Newegg you can buy Corsair Vengeanse 1600 for 44 bucks. It is maximum 10 bucks more expensive on any 1333 RAM Sale. If you have iGP I suggest you buy it. And you can sell your old ram. 20 bucks total of investment after selling old one.
Looking for someone to swap DDR3 1600 with me for benchmarking
