    I have an m17x. I want to upgrade to 2 x 2GB of a very high performance ram. I did do some searching and the best thing I found was this:

    PC3-8500 / 1066MHz / 2GB Modules / Intel XMP Edition / CL 5

    OCZ’s premier XMP-Ready SODIMM memory will immediately boot at the rated specs on any Intel Core 2 Extreme and Centrino® 2 system. Each OCZ XMP SODIMM memory module is backed by the industry-leading OCZ Lifetime Warranty and technical support for unparalleled peace of mind.

    * 1066MHz DDR3
    * XMP Profile: CL 5-5-5-19
    * Available in 4GB (2 x 2048MB) Dual Channel kits
    * Qualified by Intel
    * Unbuffered
    * 1.5 Volts
    * Lifetime Warranty
    * 204 Pin DIMM

    Part Number

    * 4GB Kit PN -OCZ3MX1066C54GK

    Does anyone know of any 1066 ram with better timings then that?

    Higher-frequency RAM will be faster, despite the timings. However, faster RAM is not going to give you much of a performance boost; you definitely won't notice it, though some benchmarks will show a little difference.

    You are not going to be able to tell any difference between your 2x2GB 1066Mhz DDR3 ram and any other 2x2GB 1066Mhz DDR3 ram you might upgrade to. Memory bandwidth is not holding back the performance of your laptop one bit.

    As stated before me, memory upgrades for you, would be useless in terms of any noticeable performance benefit. So save your money for your next laptop, as the one in your sig is pretty much maxed out.

    It bears repeating: faster RAM will not increase performance in any application other than benchmarking. This is not an exaggeration, there is literally no tangible performance benefit anywhere.

    faster out-of-the-box ram is NOT auto-magically capable of being overclocked.
