What is your budget? The two you listed aren't really good and you could do better for a little bit more. Like the HP for $120 is a meh model and I avoid recertifies from online vendors because they can send you one with dead or stuck pixels that is under the required amount to be totally defective by industrial standards.

Oh. Well prob about 130. Cause I went out and Paid &170 for a LG 22inch LED at walmart. I like to stay around 130 or less. What would ya recomend. At least needs a DVI And I`d kinda like to return this one lol. too much money for a moniter.

Im also the kinda person that it HAS to be crisp or I cant stand it. OCD like that lol

It is a bit difficult to get one at $130 well-equipped new, as most of those would be entry-models with lack of massive features and poor grade screens. However staying with brand new, this one pops to my mind as a good deal for a decent monitor for standard usage and gaming.

    Newegg.com - HANNspree By Hanns-G HF225DPB Black 21.5" 5ms Full HD WideScreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 X-Contrast 30,000:1 (1000:1)

You can also look though CraigsList and see if you can buy a previous year's model screen for around $130. Some monitors that are good and were on the high price range might be resold for lower from owners of this year. However, you will need to definitely check and inspect the screen with the local owner before buying.

It is a good brand for budget models I have seen some before and they are not bad at all. At the same time if you spend around $160-$170, you can get better 1080p panels with more solid features and specifications. Your price point though does hinder you on a huge selection of DVI/VGA 1080p panels.

I heard the Flatrons were good and that LG has experience making their own panels (because LG makes laptop panels too as a vendor) so yeah it is sharp. However there are also some good Asus ones that are aimed at gaming with a 2ms response time that people also rave about...

Some flatrons are quite good, others are just decent so i would check for reviews if possible. You could also look for deals on IPS monitor like the Dell ultrasharp or the LG IPS lcds, sometimes, you can score one for ~170$ and they destroy any TN panel.

I have both an E2260V and IPS226V LG monitors and the E2260V doesn't even compare to the IPS one. The E2260V has a somewhat slow response time for fast paced games so you might notice ghosting. I don't know how the EW224 is though. Connection through DVI or HDMi also destroys VGA in terms of picture quality.

Fry's had an LG IPS monitor (1920x1080, 21.5") for $150 before taxes the past weekend; not sure if the deal is still active.

Generally, though, I'd say $130 is good enough for a budget 21.5" FHD monitor with DVI/VGA--there's plenty of options. There was even a Lenovo 21.5" LED-backlit FHD monitor for $99 a month or so ago. Desktop panels are usually higher-quality than laptop ones. Seeing as the Y470 monitor works for you, a budget monitor for your desk would still be better.
