Hey I have been looking into upgrading my hard drive but had a question before I get started.
I know that Windows Vista can't be installed on more than 1 computer and still work properly, so do you have to uninstall Vista on your current hard drive before putting the new one in and installing Vista on it? Or can you leave Vista on your old hard drive, put the new hard drive in, install Vista and have it work fine?
Thanks

By the way, I have a Windows Vista reinstallation DVD that I got with my dell xps m1530 laptop. Is this enough to do a fresh install on a new hard drive?

That is all you need.
Good luck. -
Yeah no crap I wish I could update to Windows 7 right now
Unfortunately I want more disk space right now and would rather spend the money there. -

You can't USE the same license on more than one PC.... so if you are not going to use your old HDD with the OS on another PC (which would be quite hard without reinstalling considering hardware differences) you don't need to uninstall anything...
