I posted this question in the what laptop should I buy section (they were already talking about it), but feel that is more appropriate and more likely to get a good response here, so I am going to ask here also...

I am interested in possibly buying sager 5790. The only complaint which I have commonly heard about this notebook is that there are two fans, one of which is quiet and spins all the time. The other one which is loud and annoying spins up every few minutes when the system gets really hot. My problem is that I am a student and wish to be able to use the laptop it in class. I am aware that a cooling pad will reduce the percentage of time for which the loud fan spins, but it will still come on occasionally and disrupt class. So, at the risk of revealing my lack of knowledge and experience... Is there any way to make the notebook quieter all the time?

This notebook seems perfect for my needs except for this one issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything specific abot Sager/Clevos, but I'm pretty sure if you aren't doing anthing really CPU intensive in class the fans won't spin up to a point where they become disruptive.

No! unless you want it to over heat! Yea there are things that you have mentioned like a cooling pad or undervolting but no you can not safely overcome it, look how built it is! It makes heat!
