    Hi guys,

This is for my m18x (from sig). I have 2x 256gb Crucial M4s in RAID0 on this laptop but the benches seem to be on the low side.

Any thoughts, ideas or recommendations? This is on a fresh Win7 Ultimate install + latest Intel RST if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!

No, this seems (ballpark) right to me - unless you're willing to get the best hardware RAID card, upgrade to IB and test the array outside of a Win7 install (desktop only, of course) - this will be about the best you can expect with the M4's.

    What were you expecting?

I guess I didn't expect the setup to take that much of a hit going from a desktop to a notebook setup is all. I guess I can't really abandon my desktop rig after all. Thanks for the feedback :)

Lol... yeah - no matter how crazy I can configure a notebook - a current (or same) platform desktop has always blown it away (by a huge margin).

Don't worry about the numbers: how do the two systems feel (responsiveness/snappiness)? I'm guessing they are very similar.

Even a single SSD (specifically: not in RAID0) will 'feel' roughly equivalent, imo.

RAID0 not worth the trouble (for me...) vs. the actual performance gained unless you are editing large, raw video files on a daily basis.

Do you have the proper drivers installed? The difference shouldn't be that big between the desktop and mobile chipsets.

This made me wonder if I'm getting the full SATA 3 benefits or not. I'll keep digging and update this thread when I have more info.
