    I recently got a new asus F8va-b1

    Screen Size: 14.1 inches
    CPU: P8400 2.26 GHz
    Processor Options: Core 2 Duo
    RAM: 3GB
    OS: Windows vista
Graphics Options: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 vram 1024 (Dedicated)

I don't know why it becomes slow motion! while i'm working with sketchup, or photoshop and rendering 3D. I think there might be some problem with windows preferences or windows vista, not the hardware itself because i recently bought the notebook. any suggestions or anything i should know about speed? i'd appreciate your help.

Rendering is completely based on the processor.
The P8400 is more than capable of rendering.
Open taskmanager, how many processes are running at Idle, and what is the idle cpu usage.
If your system is idling at more than 10% cpu power, their are background processe eating your cpu power, thus reducing cpu power for rendering.

I know their are vista issues with Auto Cad 2008, and Rhino 4, because I use them. AutoCad 09 fixed the vista compatibility issues. Their are still stability and rendering issues with Rhino 4 and Vista. V-Ray seems to work fine with both XP and Vista.

I think that he is saying that navigating around the models is slow, and in that particalr case it's the GPU's job...

I checked up the task manager, the cpu is almost always on 30 percent and after closing the sidebar and other programs it became 10 percent. but still the problem remains. Tha ram is also on 34 percent every time i've checked it. what if it is the GPUs problem? how can i fix it? it has so many options and preferences i don't know which one to change..?
