I reformatted and downloaded the drivers from the resources CD that were checked. What's going on :(, I'm pretty sure these USB ports are supposed to be 2.0.

Hmm, I have the auto updates on. However, I'll perform a Windows update right now. I hope it works! Thanks :).

I have updated until it has 0 updates available... It still says that my device can perform faster in a 2.0 usb port.

This happened to me once and the problem was the bad driver for the usb2 device.

If it is a 1.1 USB device, why would there be a pop-up telling me that "This USB Device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port."
When I click it, I see:

    +Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 Enhanced Host Controller -27CC
    +USB Root Hub (8 ports)

I don't know whats going on, 8 ports?

I'm not sure what exactly is going on.. but I guess I'll start downloading some USB2 Drivers from companies like VIA. My XPS400 Desktop has this USB2.0 problem too and it has an Unknown device installed. I may have to call Dell tech to figure this out :(!

Hi, got exactly the same same problem with my M1210. I reformatted also, installed drivers I found on Dell website (they forgot to put drivers CD in the box  ) and got pop-up that says USB device could perform faster with USB2 ports...
Made a try with a USB2 HD and damned, it's slow like if it really is a USB1...Tell me if you find any solutions.

Forgot 1 thing too. The Wi-Fi Catcher LED stays always off, even near a Wi-fi connection. Got not problem with the connection but the LED stays off, pc running or not. Any information ?
