Hi!
Which one is better T8300 or T9500?
what are the pros and contras?
greets
PS: sorry maybe wrong thread

T8300 - 2.4GHz, 3MB, 800FSB
T9500 - 2.6GHz, 6MB, 800FSB
There's no real comparison as the T9500 is a better CPU but at a premium. Can't find any reviews that compares them side-by-side though. -
well obviosly the t9500 is faster
(6mb cache vs 3mb, 2.6ghz vs 2.4ghz).. but price per performance wise, go for the t8300. the t9300 isn't worth the money for the performance difference it'll make
-
go for the T9500....the system wud take the advantage of the extra 3mb cache...even though, down the road u ever think of upgrading the cpu urself it wud be much easier and cheaper for u to let Dell do it themselves in the 1st place....
-
Dell is replacing my notebook...an both are free for me.
-
duh..!! T9500....u r so lucky dude..!!
-
thx
I heard that the battery life would be better with the 8300....is there really a big difference....or are this 10 min ? -
nope not much difference since both are from the same Penryn family....but i wud still go for the T9500....
this is a small review of Penryn cpus....may have a luk....

if you can get it for free then its a no-brainer get the T9500. Both the T8300 and T9500 has exactly the same 35 watts Thermal Design Power. Differences in power consumption is very very small especially since the disparity in clock is only 200mhz. The voltage range for the T9500 is 1.062V-1.150V while the T8300 is 1.00V-1.250V.
So if I were you i'd get the T9500. -
if you get the upgrade for free, go for t9300. If your buying it yourself, go for t8300, better price/performance ratio.
-
It is really a no brainer! Get the T9500 battery life is not an issue! They have the same TDP and while that is not the best determinate it is all we have.

I would have to agree that this is a no-brainer if you are getting it for free. Good luck.

If you're not getting it for freel it may be interesting to know if you use any applications that will benefit from the difference in CPU power.
And would you care if you, for example, can encode a DVD in 22 minutes instead of 24?
