Hi,
I was reading around here and it says that the M17x-R3 along with the i7 2630QM is capable of supporting the Hyperx 1600mhz ram as long as it has the BIOS to support it. Can you please tell me more about the BIOS thing ?
Thank you.

the m17x r3 does support 1600mhz. Go ahead with the hyperx
-
So its not a processor thing, right ? So with my current processor, the 2630QM, i'm good to go!?

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Sandy Bridge memory controller supports 1600 MHz RAM. In real world performance it doesn't make a difference.

Thank you both!

Oh I forgot to ask this:
Currently, My M17x-R3 has two 2gb 1333mhz rams (The lowest on the config website). Can my laptop run two 4gb Hyper x's along with the two 2gb rams that were included side by side at the same time ? -
I should think so, the M17x r3 has 4 ram slots, so that shouldn't be a problem. However, I would go ahead an pull all the way up to 16GB while your at it in a 4x4 config
-
I just might do that.

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
you can run different speed ram, however they will run at the lowest clock available.
M17x aftermarket ram ?
