i'll likely attempt to clock them at a later date but initially i want a pair of 780's stock clocks in sli.

Good luck getting 4.9Ghz. Why not just shoot for 5Ghz ? :p If you were running those kinds of clocks you'd certainly need a dual PSU if you wanted any extra juice to go to your GPU.
Try posting here next time if you want a better discussion on any Alienware 18 matters...

Probably dual PSU's and liquid nitrogen cooling will be required lol... 4.9GHz is insane...

I never heard of someone going 4.9 with normal voltages, all voltages at around that clock are over 1.5 volts, insane. I'm fine with 4.5 with my 3920xm.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Mr Fox and Johnksss have hit 4.9 with Ivy, if so it might have been in front of the AC and not exactly everyday conditions. I know Mr Fox can run 4.8 ghz with out trouble. I can do 4.6 all day long on liquid metal ultra. My thermals are fantastic and will take higher clocks but I think my silicon says no.
Anyway I doubt the OP is very serious considering he hasn't returned.
