    If the BIOS supports it, the hardware will.

    Is it worth 300 Bucks? If you need more CPU power, cause you use you notebook for encoding video or some CPU intensive games, it could be.

    Hey Gwiggles, you almost have the same specs as me. Did you see a significant performance boost when you OC'd your 8700?

    The HDD is most of the time the bottleneck. Maybe you can look for another HDD.

    I reached 6300 points in 3DMark06 with my 8700M GT :)

    The T9300 will work in your laptop, however, you should update the Bios of your system before upgrading the processor, in order to ensure support.

    As damarcus mentioned, the relative speed of your laptop is most likely hindered by the harddrive. If your harddrive is less than 250gb at 5400rpm, or 160gb at 7200rpm, you should consider upgrading the drive to a faster 320gb 7200rpm drive or a 320gb 5400rpm drive.
