    M57U Graphics issue

    I wonder if anyone can help. I have bought an Clevo M57U with a duff graphics card, and also an apparently compatible graphics card from an Alienware M7700. The interface is proprietary and apparently the M57U is the last model to use it before Clevo switched to MXM format.
    Anyway the computer boots with the replacement card but the initial boot screen is too big for the actual lcd, and when it boots into windows, not only does the screen overlap massively, it wraps around on the left hand side.
    I've attached pictures to show you what I mean. The camera juddered, but its the resolution I'm concerned about.
    Is the card duff, or does the vbios need flashing to suit the model it now resides in?

    firstly what graphics card did it have and what did you replace it with.

    you need to load the graphics drivers to get the picture back to its normal size.

    for a 4-5 year old laptop i would recommend the 186.81 drivers from nvidia. luckily for you i still have links for nvidia drivers going back 5 years.

    32bit NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81WHQL


    64bit NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81WHQL

    these will only work with vista or windows 7

    Hi. It's a Geforce Go 6800. Not sure which card was in there before, as it was not posting at all, before I replaced it just giving a bleep error and there are no markings on the card itself to easily tell. However when I was shopping for a replacement card for it, the M57U and the Alienware machine appeared to be cross compatible. I did upgrade the drivers to the latest for this card, but I really dont think it's a windows driver issue. As you can see on the "Sager" Screen the Intel Inside logo spills off the bottom of the screen and the right hand side is split and displayed on the left. Very weird. This effect happens before Windows kicks in so is unlikely to be a driver issue. Nevertheless, 6800 drivers were on board the machine before I acquired it, and I have since updated them to this January's version for this card. The effect hasn't moved regardless of drivers resident. I will try posting on the Clevo threads, thanks for your help. I'll try the drivers you posted. Not sure they'll make a big difference though :S
