I've been a M6300 owner for a few years. It's been a decent machine to date. I plan to do the upgrade to 8GB [from4] as well as a new HD and finally Win7 64bit.
Ok to my problem, tonight my 2yr old son decided he'd try and remove the spacebar. Long story short is that he succeeded.. but now it's in two pc's. I've glued it back together and will try and re-install it in the am. However, being as this is my main machine [work related] I'm going to have to replace the keyboard.
I've done some searching [haven't called DELL yet as it's after hrs] for a replacement online and I see that Amazon has M90 keyboards for sale [cheap too @ ~$15/each]. Will this keyboard fit my M6300? I haven't pulled it appart to look for part numbers and can't find any online references as to whether it will or not..
Love to hear what the experts say..
Thanks

If your laptop is under warranty i strongly recommend you to call dell and have your keyboard replaced.

I would look for a M6300 keyboard... i doubt M90 is going to work... they look like they're on 2 different lines... i would look for a M6300 keyboard or if u got warranty , send it in to dell for keyboard replacement.

Re: Warrentee... ah if only.. I'm now off of it.. so gotta do this on my own two feet.
I've yet to find a DELL "genuine part" keyboard for a M6300. Guess I'll just have to pull it apart and see if the part number matches the M90. As far as I can tell they are the same. They come from the same line, the M90 was the precurser to the new Precision line [M4400/6300/6400 etc] The old units [M60/90] simply were replaced by the new. It'd make sense if they are the same board.. [to me at least].
Anyone every pulled one of these?
Thanks ppl..
