I'll do my best to make this short and to the point. Any and all help is appreciated. I "had" an Asus G53sw-a1 notebook, but my mobo burnt out on me today. I'm in the market for another gaming pc. I'm not sure whether or not I want to get a desktop, or another notebook. I would prefer a notebook, but the fact I cant find a replacement mobo really turns me off. Does anyone know where I could possibly get a replacement mobo, or is it even worth it? Also, would really like to keep all the info I had on the HD. Is it possible to install the old HD in a new notebook, or desktop? It's a Seagate 750g 7200 rpm. Thanks!

You can pull out the drive from the laptop and put it in another computer, you can't use it to boot from windows on it or use your programs, but that way you can get all of your data back. You can also format the drive afterwards and use it for whatever you see fit. If you have a desktop, just hook it up to the desktop to get the data back, otherwise you could use a SATA to USB adapter or a drive enclosure. If you get an enclosure, you could also use it as an external drive afterwards.
