Hello to all,
as of now, I have an inspiron 8200 with a problem by not being able to charge new batteries. It actually chages an old battery but it takes a long time. Anyways, was considering getting anew mobo and charger card and new battery (which i returned). I have no problem messing and taking apart the laptop as i previously. As well i've spoken to dell support chat which doing some checks realized the charger card is not at fault but the mobo itseld. a good condition mobo will be 50+, and battery $50+ and shipping and possible charger card for being sure and it'll cost money.
So i'm looking into a external laptop battery that won't break the ank and will give 3-4 hours of use.
any help appreciated.
If anyone knoes an ebayer who has a good one, let me know $150 max with shipping.
Thank you.

I have a few laptop batteries which are compatible with the Dell inspiron 8200. They are slightly used from my brothers dell 8200, but they work fine and still hold the entire charge of the battery.
Let me know if you want some, I have 2 I could sell.
That motherboard is not going to be $50, it will be more like $250 for one which actually works.
The 8200 charges the batteries via 7 wires I believe. Since the batteries are front discharge, you should be able to stick a voltmeter in their and confirm whether or not the system is charging the batteries or not.
If a voltage of about 14.4V comes out, than that means the charging circuit is good, and the battery is bad.
or if no voltage comes out, the problem is either the power brick or the charging circuit on the motherboard.
If the batteries are charging but slowly, it seems that the power brick may not be be working so well. You may want to get a new one, cause from my experience, the rubber cable is thin, and the three pin adaptor which plugs into the system can get loose, causing improper electrical conductance.

Sorry for not replying in a timely manner. I went to Ireland for a wedding and stayed there a week. Gorgeous place.
Anyways. The PA-9 is around 1.5 years old but did the same thing as before. I Will purchase a new one for travel as I just bought a docking station. This is not my main computer but I use it to show clients video footage and pics of my wedding portfolio.
back to the subject. I did order a charger board of of ebay and i'll try to change that and see what happens.
Btw, I've seen tons of people selling mobo's on ebay for around that $50 +/- $20. Maybe they work maybe not I have no idea till I try it.
Btw, How much do you want on these batteries? how much does each hold, and are these genuine dell batteries?
Thank you and thank you all. -
What about an external battery charger? maybe a bay toaster type charger? where can i get on of these?

My batteries are genuine dell batteries. Each battery holds 100% charge, and they all work fine. Each battery is made by Sanyo in Japan
Each battery is 14.8V at 4460Mah. (66WHr)
I have extra because these batteries were interchangeable and could be used in many dell laptops. For example, I used them in Latitude C640's, Inspiron 8200, inspiron 3800etc.
All batteries work fine.
If you live in Europe, things would be complicated, as I try to stay within the USA for sales. I would be looking for about $30 shipped each, within USA
I dont have any extra power adaptors, I am actually one short, cause the ac power cable got stuck in a drawer and split the cable.

MOBO doesn't hold charge, looking @external power.
