I have a MSI MS-1634 notebook and was wondering if i could upgrade the two slots it has to 4gb. The manufacturers website says a max of 2gb, but i was wondering if you could use two sticks of 2gb in it. Thanks in advance.

p.s. I know many will say i don't need 4gb, but i hate vista and really would like to improve the performance even if it is marginal. Ram is cheap, why not.

Upgrading above the manufacturer's maximum can work, but often doesn't I doubt anyone would recommend it, if you could get access to a 2GB sodimm to try it first that might be a good plan.

I looked at their WEB site does say 2GB's that could mean per slot, don't know. Found this link for someone who builds off this barebone, they say 4GB's max and will sell. If I had to bet, I would bet it can take 4GB.

Wow yeah, you are right. I searching some more and found that someone else with a similar MS-1634 system manually added 4gb as well. I bet you are right. I will try it out and post if it works. Thanks!
