    MSI GP73 OVERHEATING (XOTICPC)

    Hello,

    I have problem whit overheating cpu at my gp73 from xoticpc
    To test temparatures i use msi after burner.

    When i play cs:go, cpu temp are going up to 95C, but CPU usage is only about 25%
    Fans are working all time, but temparatures are so high.

    After contact, xoticpc offer me repairs, but am outside USA now.

    Laptop is stock, no undervolt or repaste.

    It have last bios version.

    Is there anything i can do ?

    They probably did a crappy thermal paste job (no surprise with Xotic PC laptops). Your only choice now is to open it up yourself and re-paste it with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut or IC Diamond.

    You can also try undervolting it by -50mV that will help a lot.

    I will try re-paste it.
    Did not do that before.

    I was but this laptop only because i found in couple reviews that thermals are very good.
    MSI stock thermal paste was good for reviewers.

    I get OS installed whit laptop, mabey that can make some problems (its not clean os install) ?

    If you did a line application, and the temps are still high, you may not have applied enough. It's ok with ICD7 to add a thick line, since the heat of the chip will warm the paste and cause it to spread out, and the thickness will not impede heat transfer much, if at all. You do a line 3/4 the width of the chip.

    Any excess will be pushed out the sides, which is OK since the paste isn't electrically conductive.

    I suspect your heatsink isn't flush against the chip die, and there's a bit of a gap. Therefore try using more paste.

    Is it possible that i can flush my heatsink?

    Maybe the heat sink was made badly. Maybe talk to them about the heat sink.
