My MSI GT70 GPU is running all the time, I am not sure why. When I boot my laptop the power button is white for a while which means it is using the integrated CPU. After about 20 mins, the lights turns from while to Orange which means the GPU is being used.

I need to turn this OFF, I have gone to the Nvidia control panel and clicked in integrated graphics for all operations but for a crazy reason my GPU is being used. I know this because I have GPU-Z. The temperature is 67 degrees and load is 93%

Normal the temperature would be 39 degrees when it is not in use. PLEASE, I need to turn off the GPU. All I am doing is browsing the web, youtube, movies. Right now the orange light is on for no reason. Need this off as soon as possible guys
I was hoping switching to integrated graphics would sort ever thing out.

What O/S are you running? Was this a clean install? Do you have the proper/working/recommended drivers for your system and O/S of choice?

Is there any new/background software/service/option that you've enabled that keeps the GPU on?

It may be an indicated hardware failure - but if you can't track it down in the next couple of days, I recommend a clean install (step, by step) while verifying each and every driver and program you install on the system.

Keep in mind that a spare HDD/SSD is ideal for this - no need to trash your installation needlessly by using the current system drive. ;)

    Good luck.

I really don't know what is causing my GPU to be on. I am using Win 10, upgraded from 8 to 8.1 to 10.

I don't fancy re-installing my OS too much hassle .

Too much hassle to re-install after 3 major upgrades? When you're hitting 93% load and 67C with nothing running?

    I think not.

I have uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, Geforce experience and my laptop is using the CPU with white light and ever thing is extremely cool CPU 36 degrees, GPU 32 degrees. I will install ONLY the Nvidia drivers for my card without and see what happens

I have installed the lastest Nvidia drivers WITHOUT installing Geforce experience. Every thing works fine. The orange light only lights up with I am playing games and turns off when I am not, the way it should be. For now I am not going to install GeForce Experience since ever thing works just fine without any headaches

Great to see you resolved this issue on your own.

And without having to do a clean install too. ;)
