That panel will be 8 bit or 6+FRC - not everything on panelook is properly listed. I had than panel and color reproduction was pretty decent.
There is nothing better than B173HAN04.0 or CMN175C - only refresh rate will vary.

Thanks for the clarification, i was checking the datasheet of the screen after your comment and at least in revision C1 the screen have the specs that you explained.

Depends on your vision and perception of the colors... and what you're using it for.

I fell down that rabbit hole when comparing panels and the whole TN/IPS/IGZO comparisons as well.

Let's be honest - that Innolux panel is top tier screen for 17.3 inch laptop.
OFC there are some miniLED panels used by MSI (4K resolution) that easily beat every typical IPS panel, but they will cost some serious money.
I hope that upcomming months and years will gave us more high quality panels for 17.3 inch laptops, because there is nothing spectacular in that regard I switched over to 15.6 inch laptop with far better screen that was available with typical 17.3 variant.

Because I still have my CMN175C at home I compared it to what Legion 7i is offering and difference is quite obvious and can't be "unseen".
If you buy panels recommended by me you'll easily stay with it for next year or two, maybe even more, because there is nothing really happening in term of quality in that specific laptop size.
CMN175C/B173HAN04.0 are in use for at least 3 years and still offering top tier performance.
Even 15.6 inch laptops are not that much better, excluding Legion 7i and some pro laptops most of them are using similiar quality panels - so typical 250-300 nits, and ~100% sRGB at best.

I ended up going with NE156QUM-N6 and compared to the Innolux FHD it came with it's night and day. It's apple to oranges going from FHD to UHD and bumping the colors up. The response time isn't too bad but it's noticeable when switching from browsing to a game as it transitions it stutters a bit but then works great once it's switched over form UHD630 to GTX1650 and all of the pre-req's are loaded.

If you're putting the time and money into an upgrade you might as well go for it in terms of aspect / color since you'll likely only do it once while you own the laptop. As to quality it's pretty much the same stuff from 3-5 different manufacturers but comes down to the underlying technology that makes a difference whether you're looking for fast response times it's TN/IPS. If you want to stray a bit then IGZO is a nice alternative and of course the next big change is mini-led but for most of us that's off in the future a couple of years due to the costs.

If we consider 4K resolution then we need to include OLED panels made by Samsung and BOE (if I remember correctly) and also miniLED panels made by AUO - quite new in our neighbourhood but if can afford them - then you'll get best possible quality available.
Typical laptop screen got plenty to do to catch up even with typical TV screen :)
I'm so happy with my Lenovo 7i - but that screen is nothing fantastic if I compare it to mid-tier VA TV with local dimming etc.

Knowing this already you know the options are limited in what you can successfully put into your laptop chassis.

The costs of some of the bleeding edge panels doesn't make sense to put them into older laptops unless your intent will be to to move it from your existing chassis to the next newer replacement laptop with better specs. Sure, if you have deep pockets for the experience some panels will provide you can do it but chances are if you're looking for those panel specs you're either going to buy a system with them included or are going to opt for an external display with them featured.

Similarly you wouldn't pay $20K or more for a V12 supercharged engine to put into your 20 year old Camry.

Because the TV panels sell millions per model, laptop displays dont have such scales, much less when you go to the niche G-Sync, IPS, 144Hz+ 17" displays, those might be less than a million a year..

People put even more expensive engines in much older cars :D

Oh bummer, well at least you're pretty close now! I guess the chances are low to get that part locally, gonna have to wait again for the adapter. By the time you get it all done, 600hz will be out, lol.

Not really, you already have laptop screens with FHD 360Hz and 1440p at 165Hz...in 2021 perhaps will see from AUO screens at 480Hz in laptops.

Screen is too new and I haven't tried it yet. 2021 will be a great year for laptop displays especially QHD with 165hz, HDR, 100% Adobe RGB. Exciting times to come...

Very good quality on this 40 Pin adapter that i used im my upgrade, you must not bend the adapter completely or it will break the tracks.

I really want put an original Msi cable in my GT75 8RG without the extender and only with converter...i was searching a little and inside the laptop i have the K1N-3040085-H39 and there is a compatible one
K1N-3040064-H39 that is the same length as the original lcd cable i think.

What im looking is a msi cable that have more length from motherboard and the cable need to be 40Pin for 4K.

I found another reference "K1N-3040068-H39" and this cable has enough length for what i want...the problem is if the pin out is the same.

@t456 @senso Really need help in this issue.

If anyone understand a little about the K1N cables from MSI just post here, thanks.

Right to aid all that has been at'd in this thread. so your after upgrading the screen from what to what.

You say you need increased length in the cable from the Mainboard end is there a reason why this is the case?

If you have already got a 40 pin EDP cable in the system a screen upgrade to another 40 pin EDP screen should be easy enough so long as the pinouts match from screen to cable, this is why I question about length requirement.

Is it possible to replace the titan GT75 8sg monitor with a QHD 144Hz monitor? Also is there a video or tutorial outlining how to replace a gt75 monitor? Thanks

P.S. why the hell didn't MSI make a 3080 titan this year??

Sad, but true. No more GT76 Titan.

    GE76 Raider 10UH - i7-10870H - RTX3080 has replaced it.

No more socketed LGA from MSI.

They're interchangeable on the lcd end, at least. That is not so strange; eDP pin-out is pretty much standardised, disregarding lane count and pin-pitch.

BIST = Built In Self Test, btw. Some Dells have a segment in the bios that can initiate that test, assuming the panel supports it and, indeed, the pin is present on the lcd cable.

If you're also certain they match on the motherboard side then you're good to go (mb pin layout is very specific to manufacturer and model). That is, check whether or not the cable's part nr. is listed as a possible replacement for your particular motherboard.

After trying find the best cable for my upgrade i not was able to get an original cable for my upgrade since the connections not are the same in connectors.

But I was able to increase the cable size by about 30cm without a single symptom of interference, all of this was necessary because the connector of the screen is on the left and the original cable connector is on the right side, my upgrade is finished.

This will be probably my last message about this upgrade, anyways i will leave the link for the cable(40 pin 0.5mm pitch to 40 pin 0.4mm pitch)

Just to report that i can change the brightness and even the graphic menus showing the brightness going down and up also are visible.
