Been looking into upgrading the CPU from my MSI GX740 laptop from a dual core to a quad core. (Intel Core i7-720QM)

Im thinking of this cpu: CPU-Upgrade: Intel Core i7-720QM CPU

I am just wondering if I would be running in to heating issues since the thermal design power of the quad core is 45W vs 35W on the dual core i5-450M. And in case heating will become an issue are there any cooling solutions anyone is aware of ?

    Thanks in advance.

45W quadcore Clarksfield CPUs run without any thermal issues in GX740. Only the 55W ones (920XM/940XM) will run hot.

BTW I have a spare i7-820QM collecting dust. PM me if you're interested. :)
