    I'm going to upgrade the laptop in my sig soon. I'm going to plop in a 500Gb SSD Samsung EVO, but would also like to swap the GPU as well. Is it possible?

    Your laptop is the same thing as a 16F2 barebones, it should sport an MXM 3.0B card.

    So start searching r7970m or nv 770m and correct heatsink.

    Thank you, to both, for the advice! After more research, seems my old heatsink will work with a 770m. That was good news.

    Anyone recommend a vendor that just sells mobile GPU's? Thanks again.

    I'm honestly not sure, as I haven't seen the heatsink on those. That said, I came across a thread wherein people had success with the MSI 16F2 and GTX 770m combination.
