As I see it's the "Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/PM/GMS/910GML".
The 915GM is supposed to support 2GB right? Nevertheless I've read that I can only upgrade to 1GB max.
What should I believe?
Should I get two of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211126 and call it a day?

If the main website says 2gb's, get the 2gb's. Even if you can only use 1gb, you will still be ABLE to use it. You will just have an extra ram stick. If you only get the two 512's, it would be worse. Just make sure to get 2x1024's and not 1x2048.

The 910GML, which is the weakest chipset of them all, supports up to 2GB I'm pretty sure. Most of those support 4GB (with the catch you cannot use it all, ever...not even with a 64bit OS).
Go ahead and give 2GB a try...its cheap and it should work. -
Yes, your system does support 2 Gb of memory.
So you can buy 2 x 1Gb of Pc2700 memory for your laptop.
You should just buy one 1Gb card, and use the one thats in your laptop.
This will save you money, since a 1Gb card of Pc2700 is a bit expensive.
This would be an ideal memory card:

Thanks.
Shouldn't I be able to use DDR2 667 (PC5300) RAM which is cheaper? And then let the system clock it down to PC2700?
I was thinking of using this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145012 or even the stock memory that comes with Lenovo T61.
Why shouldn't it work? -
No, DDR and DDR2 are not compatible! You can use PC3200 DDR but when I priced last night on NewEgg PC2700 was cheaper so might as well get it.

Oh I see, my bad.
Have been away from the scene too long
