    MSI barebone, supports merom??

    Hi, anybody knows for sure if the msi barebone supports merom cpus?? I know that the chipset should support them but im not sure if they are supported in the bios.

    Im i think u are wrong, there meroms-m and meroms-p which is the same socket in the msi. The only difference is the 800 vs 1066 bus and 65nm vs 45nm

    The MSI 1651 is a Socket P machine with a 45 chipset. It will take any Socket P processor, including Merom-based chips (T2xxx, T5xxx, T7xxx, etc). There is no such thing as "Merom-m" or "Merom-p", but there are both 800MHz FSB and 1066MHz FSB Socket P processors. A 1066MHz FSB usually means that the chip is a Penryn.

    with merom-m i meant merom for socket m with 667 fsb, that is what ZAZ was referring to.

    Best bang for your buck is probably something in the T7xxx area. I think the T7100 and T7300 are already going for less than $100 on eBay and the like.
