MSI have been active as hell lately. The newest notebooks GT70/60 from them have the custom built raid0 card for msata SSDs built by MSI. I think they are the first to create such a card.

So I bet the Sandforce SSDs will build upon that :)

MSI are really fast at jumping on new hardware, not only with notebooks but also with custom built desktop GPUs and such. Its kinda interesting to watch :)

Was that on the HDD slot or it was installed on another slot just for that RAID-0 SSD?

So, in that picture, MSi has two Sandisk mSATA SSDs connected to a custom board to run in some sort of RAID mode?

FYI, playing with a demo unit (don't remember the exact MSI model...) I could tell that the RAID0 SSD's were bagged - even some of the 5400 RPM drives were noticeably more responsive than the MSI 'premium' offering.

As long as TRIM is not supported in RAID0 setups - better to skip this form of cruel and unusual punishment.

Its the sandisk drives. Put a couple of M4 256GB drives in that thing and you will get crazy speeds and responsiveness.

Yes Meaker is correct, you can swap the msata SSDs out with anyone you like.

Right now, MSI ships the GT70 with 2xSandisk U100, which are not very fast.

    Two in RAID0:

    Single U100:

Now imagine two of THESE (crucial c400) in Raid0 and you get the idea :D

Here is how the raid0 card look like when you swap them out

Intel RST 11.5 includes TRIM support for RAID0 ;)

Having a eye on MSI now, they seem to been more interested in making the consumers happy than Clevo at this point... :p
