I'm happy with the FX 3700M in my notebook, but I can't overclock it well.

I'm pretty sure the problem is that it's not getting enough power.

You can see that the HE tab isn't connected:

I would like to supply some power to the HE tab.

It looks like the other side of the HE tab is GND, it's already connected to another pin on the MXM card which according to mxm electro spec is GND.

So all I need is to find some place on the motherboard to connect to the front side of the HE tab.

The problem is that I don't know how much voltage it needs. The mxm electro spec doesn't mention how much voltage the HE tab needs.

    Would it make any difference?

I think the battery in this notebook is 10.8V, would it be a good idea to connect it straight to the battery?

Just use it in stock, my 3700M also OC very bad, cannot pass 560MHz core. It has already enough power.

Ok, that's too bad, I really wanted to get 675mhz on the core like the 3800m.

 really? I was sure it was moral hazards MSI doing that... mine have gone to 585/1475/799 stable!

Maybe I should test a few more of them see if I got lucky...

kaltmond, do you think you got a slight dud of a card or something?
And moral hazard, I bet theres a way to get yours up there ;) at least to 585/1475

i'd bet the battery power wouldnt hurt the HE tab, although its true more info is needed.
Maybe I'll test my HE tab with a voltmeter in the next few days..

edit:wait how are you guys overclocking? i'm editing clocks with nibitor..

I've tried nibitor and nvidia system tools, both wont let me get a full 3dmark06 run at 585mhz.
