    Hi,

I have a One c7000 (aka Gericom Supersonic Extreme 2600xt)

now my gfx is dead and i want to buy a 9600gt on ebay.

Does it fit right away or will i have to update any bios?
I have the latest bios from my manufacture but i dond know is there is a bios update necessary for the GFX card?

    so my big question:
Is a MXM-II plug and play or do i need to install another bios on the gfx cuz i dont like doing that :p (read my threads before)

    Thx,

I have never heard of that laptop before, but if it has a MXM-II slot you should have no problems upgrading.
You dont want to ever update the graphics card bios. Its the main system bios, which recognizes everything.
I think the 8400 or the 8600GS/GT should be a direct swap. I am not sure if the 9600GT is going to be a direct drop in.
You may want to email the experts, at MXM-UPGRADE here is their website:
    http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/

That site is run by a notebook review member named "ice-tea"
You may want to send him a PM too

You may want to double check that your graphics card looks like that. If it does, than the only way to get your system running again is to buy another 2600xt.
From that picture, your gpu is definitely not mxm, so your system uses proprietary cards.

Just open your system up and see if your card is infact the same as mxm-upgrade says.

Mxm 2 cards are quite alot smaller than that about 73mm by 78mm. That card is more like 100mm long so mxm 3 sized.

Either way based on your connectors on that card it isn't mxm. Take a look at the link K-tron linked above http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/ and you will see that all mxm cards have a single long thin copper plated connector along one side of the card.

Maybe the manufacturer of your computer can supply a replacement proprietary card. Good luck!
