Hi, I have a Lenovo P71 with an MXM Quadro P4000 which has a problem to which don't have a solution to after all my trouble shooting.

    The Problem:
This all started when I uhhhhh.... punched the P71 laptop's keyboard(Yes, I know that's not how you treat delicate pieces of tecnology. I still beat myself up about this) :( :(, Windows then BSOD'd and I rebooted no problem, and started up Call of Duty Cold War to play some relaxing zombies, then I noticed something off with my FPS. Then I discovered a symptom, the P4000 now only uses 57 watts under full load instead of its usual ~100 watts. Because of this, I get about maybe ~60% performance out of it.

I thought about just buying a newer RTX 3000/4000 from eBay, but prices are still too high for my liking.

So if possible, could someone steer me in the right direction regarding this problem?

I have no problem with soldering and trying things that others wouldn't.

    Thanks,
    --SuS

No idea what could have caused that, but a dented heatsink and a shorted anything can produce that kind of weirdness.

I'd recommend total disassembly, and a check of the hardware on the MXM card, and everything around it (the motherboard and heatsink, but also the case / RF shield).

I have already pulled apart the computer and inspected the heatsink and gpu, there appears to have no damage on the Heatsink and a tiny bump on the opposite corner of the gpu. Not sure if this is our culprit.

A tiny bump on the GPU? That may be your problem.

It may very well be my problem.

The damage is on the very top left corner on the PCB and very very small.

If someone has a schematic/boardview of an MXM module, This may help with a potential repair on my end.

    ***EDIT***
I have noticed that when run furmark, GPU-Z reports that my memory clock is only 1499.8 Mhz. Instead of 3000 reported by furmark (here), or the 6000 Mhz reported by notebookcheckdotnet.

This would be the cause of the problem for better or worse. Smashing keyboards will cause system board and GPU board problem. This will require a computer shop to inspect how much damage was caused here before any fixes can happen. I know because I had to replace a computer my nephew punch and denied when I saw the damage and said why are the keys all broken and the HDD failed because of the impact from him hitting it. He was lucky I replaced the Keyboard and HDD and the motherboard was ok. But I lectured him why did you do this-this computer isn't a gaming computer and yet your attitude broke it be lucky next time otherwise you won't have a computer to use again.

Thank you. I am someone who has been struggling with anger issues my entire life. Obviously, I am not proud of my decision. I am not a time traveler, so I'm stuck with what happened on December 2020. So instead of lying about the damage, I said it straight up. I hoped that this would lead to less questions and less made up answers.
If I wanted to be lectured, I would have gone to reddit for further criticism.

There is no other damage besides the keyboard and apparently, the GPU.

I reached out to Aetina to ask if they would share their schematics for their "M3N1060-MN" GPU as it has the same board design as my P4000. However, getting a favorable response will be slim to none.

My part is the lecture part but the admitting to what happens can help others figure where else to look for damages or what should be inspected. That line I said was what I told him not the posting here. He was a teens at that time when it happened and when asked refused to admit he did it. That's why I lectured him admitting would've helped me figure what happened to the computer-rather know what to look at and fix.

My bad, I misread what you wrote and took it as something that wasn't intended to be.
