ok well when i ordered my Clevo 570RU (sager5791) and it comes with MXM-IV, which seemed to be the greatest and best and had the most chance for possible upgrade. Now i was doing some searching and it appears that MXM-HE is out now. Eurocom.com has thier m570RU's with MXM-HE on them.

with this being said, i would guess any new Geforce (possibly the 8800) wouldnt use the MXM-IV but rather would use the HE model. this kinda sucks ;(

also in the future says 2 years or so, just talking in laptops general, is it possible to switch out motherboards like in desktops, as long as the dimensional spec's fit?

Yes, but you might as well buy a new computer if you want to switch out mobos.

Technically speaking, MXM-HE was out before MXM-IV. MXM-IV was introduced by Clevo, and appears to be nothing but a longer version of MXM-HE, however not too much is known at this point. I'm sure Ice-Tea could tell you more, but at this point it appears that any MXM-HE card will fit in an MXM-IV slot (though not necessarily the other way around). So if you have an MXM-IV slot, you have the best possible chance of getting an 8800 GPU eventually.

is it more cost effective to just buy a new one later if i feel the need?
