So who will be buying the "New" Macbook that looks exactly the same as the "Old" Macbook?

And downgrade to a 5 watt Intel M processor and the un-amazing HD5200 graphics?

Who will throw away all their previous peripherals because it is no longer compatible with the ONE port it will have, a USB-C port which you can't use if you're charging your laptop?

Who has a MacBook Air and will buy this just because it has a QHD screen? OMG, Facebook has never looked so good, those compressed images will look incredible in QHD.

Who wants to pay $1300 for a piece of aluminum, with a QHD screen, and a huge battery? That's all this MacBook is...

The "New" MacBook is a giant battery, essentially.

At least Apple is indirectly admitting that Apple owners don't do anything productive on their mobile products and decided to increase their profit margins by downgrading to a 5 watt M processor.

I kinda don't get a point of this thread, except to spread some hate. Usually I'm the first in line (and already did some hatin' in OT section), but Apple didn't exactly advertise it as a gaming machine.

What I don't know is, are they replacing only their MBA with this, or MBPs as well?
Machines with Core M are already present in Windows ultrabook market, so Apple isn't exactly doing nothing new, just replaces MBA with this. However if they are replaceing MBPs too, that is stupid!

It's not being riciculed because it can't play games, it's being ridiculed because it has exactly TWO ports, is a downgrade in performance compared to even it's predecessor (not that any recent Macbook has been worth buying), and is overpriced.

Then what is this thread doing in Gaming section?
And I know, single USB-C port is ridiculous. I already did my complainin' in other thread. Lol my tablet has more ports.

My bad, I didn't see that it was in the gaming section.

I could rant about Apple and their inferior products for days, but I feel like this forum deserves better.

    What is definite about this.

MacBook Air owners will still buy this, and current MacBook Pro owners who don't want to pay more will get this. This will be a blockbuster hit for sure.

Lol I never really thought Apple offered great laptops for professionals but this certainly changes nothing. They introduced a new line. A laptop that's probably meant to be a fashion statement more than anything else along with their apple watch. Their high end rMBP 15inch still exists. The "New MacBook" didn't replace anything. But yeah wrong thread.

That is the scary part, it probably will be. The rest of us will all get chastised for wanting more than one port.

While I won't likely buy anything Apple, I have to step in their defence. It is obvious that this single USB Type-C port is intended to be used with docking stations and hubs Apple fanboys will gladly pay for, as they always do for other overpriced crapcessories... and it is so thin and light and so Retina, how can you resist buying one, really? (yes, a lot of sarcasm)

Thread closed. It's one thing if you're going to start a thread with an open-minded topic, but the way you phrased it - this is designed to be a bash fest. No thanks.
