I just bought a dell e1505 with 1 gb of the ddr2 557mhz ram. I also ordered 2gb of the faster 667mhz ddr2 to install once it comes.

My wife has a macbbok with 512 of 667mhz ddr2 would I be better off putting the slower 1gb in the macbook or should I stick with the faster memoery in the macbook?

Well, that is really upto you. As long as you don't mix speeds I think you'll be fine. The reason is that if you have a faster RAM and a slower RAM together, the faster will be downclocked to the slower speed. Since you ordered 2GB of RAM, you'll have some a single or couple of loose sticks lying around. What you could do is put the 2GB in yours, take a 512 from your one gig and put it in her macbook (I know it'll be downclocked, but once you manage to get RAMs of the same speed, it will be back up to the original speed). And you'll have an extra 512MB (557MHz) lying around somewhere which you might need in emergency situations.
