Since Sony released his new Vaio-N serie laptop the deal of the laptos design was on the table. Some people said the new Vaio-N is a copy of the Macbook, other analists thinks that exist a kind of influence or maybe was inspired on it, and some specialists told that Vaio-N was capable to defeat the new Macbook in design and style. But what do you think about this? Who win this deal?? See the images I posted below and compare for yourself!

Macbook. I don't like Mac design, honestly. Never have, it just doesn't really appeal that much to me. Apple spends a lot of time on internal components (even though this often results in massive recalls and out-of-warranty service) and honestly does try and support their products in an efficient and reliable way.
But let me tell you, I cannot stand this 'SonyStyle' or whatever the heck they are trying and pass off as college-cool these days. I just think the two-tone, featureless brushed metal thing is just plain ugly. They really went all-out in making the 'N' look like it was from Minority Report or A.I. Sony also seems to pride itself on making expensive junk and not supporting it.
In a battle of (to me) two unattractive laptops, I have to give Apple the win.
Keep in mind I wasn't particularly rooting for either side. -
I'd chose the Vaio simply because I'm a windows kind of person.
I think it's pretty simple yet sleek looking. -

Both hideous! Look like a fridge-freezer.
-
Sometimes looking more professional or fancier is nicer. A Thinkpad or even a VooodoPC Envy U series.

The Vaio N, I saw one in person at Best Buy and was amazed at the sleekness.
-
And I agree I do not like either. Might be because I have been conditioned to use a black laptop over the years. But, I have never gotten into the white cases. Actually over the long term they seem to show scratches more so then the high gloss black cases.
But anything that white is just screaming for a can of spray paint...if you look at it there are not too many pure white things in nature either. Black is a more natural and common color. -
Well, seeing as the Vaio comes with a 10 pound power brick and costs about twice as much, I'd go Macbook all the way.
-
The VAIO N catches my eye when I am looking for aesthetics, but like some of the forum members here, I admire functionality and durability more. The Macbook also looks nice, but it has superior design. I would go for either because:
-VAIO N: expensive for no functional reason
- Macbook: I do not like the OS. If Apples were designed and optimized for Windows I wouldn't have this Toshiba! -

The VAIO N is not that sophisticated in my opinion, it looks rather plain. I do like the MacBook though, I think it really gets the 'high-class' look down pat and it has better build quality.

MAcbook is completely white color and rounded, in the other hand, VAio-N is plain and combine the white and silver color. Two ways to express the minimalistic concept but Who did it better?? -
The Macbook has a slot-loading CD drive, which simplifies the whole body. The keyboard is much cleaner-looking and easier to maintain due to the unconventional design. Sony hasn't bothered to integrate minimalist design into a functional part. Sure, the VAIO looks good, but it's looks don't help it function better in the small ways that the Macbook's design choices do.
-
I prefer the Macbook, the Vaio looks like a "me too!" kind of design. I'll admit that the white Macbook isn't the most striking of designs, but it's nothing that can't be jazzed up a bit.
-
I have not seen a Vaio N in person, but the MacBook looks to have cleaner lines. Less breaks in the plastic. That and Sony keyboards look really cheap, their keyboards always detract from otherwise decent looking notebooks. In the end, it is obviously opinion. I think the MacBook is has a more functional minimalist look than the Vaio.
-
They both look hideous to me. But out of the two I'd say the Macbook.
-
My next notebook will be a Macbook. Yes I love the looks, but also I'm ready to learn something different.

why not make this into a poll.

I merged the poll just created with the original thread

Asus V6j...oh wait, I mean, I don't like either of my options!
-
I have used Windows all my life, have never ever used Macs but its no contest, the Macbook looks far better than the Vaio N, in fact, its in my opinion the worst designed notebook by Sony ever, its just a white slab of crap, no work went into it at all!
-
MACBOOK. End of story.

The new crappy vaio looks like old compaq laptops. How about adding a (both look crappy) in the pull?

This thread was posted in 2007 over a year ago and i see that you bumped another thread and and gave this link.
The laptops in question in that article the Macbook and the Vaio-N is not even in question IN that article so no it is not a good comparison at all.

Vaio N for sure...
