    Hi,

What are some of the tasks that use up the most system resources.

I know that gaming, video editing, collecting scientific data and modelling (VR, 3d e.t.c.) all use up lots of resources. Would you put them in that order? What else uses up a lot of resources?

    Thanks very much,

    Froskoy.

i'd say a tie between modelling and video editing at the top, then gaming, and then "collecting scientific data" (not quite sure what you mean by this though).

Collecting scientific data is number 1 - if set to utilize the full power of the machine you won't be able to do ANY other tasks. This includes projects like SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence - http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/) and protein folding - http://folding.stanford.edu/

I believe there are many others as well.

After that - Gaming, then 3d modeling, then video editing - though video editing will use more CPU than GPU, I think gaming will use more resources overall.
