    I have an HP NC6220 which has a 14" 1024x768 LCD screen.
This computer is junk because the mobo is defective.
I'm wondering how I can adapt the LCD screen to be a vga monitor.

Are there any guides for this type of project?

:wideeyed: So... I'll wait and see if anyone else posts something. I don't really have any idea where to start. If this requires me to buy anything I won't bother.

Talk to someone like KTron or crazycanuk. I'm pretty sure they did something like that when they were bored....

I don't need anymore of those :p I don't really need a 14" monitor, but if this is possible and not tooo hard, I'll try it. I was actually just given a 19" LCD monitor 2 hrs ago :D it has a teeny dim spot about the size of a fist, no big deal.

It can be quite expensive... Laptop monitors use proprietary connectors, and the only places you can get the necessary adapter is specialty enthusiast shops. Most of the time it'd be cheaper just to buy a $200 desktop monitor, and you'd get a much bigger screen too.

Of course, you could probably make the adapter yourself, but I doubt that'd be easy ;)
