Is it just me or is finding and pressing the eject button getting harder and harder, on my last few notebook the eject button has been more difficult to find and press without actually looking at the side of the notebook to see it.

And if you have a bootable dvd in the drive and you re-booting your notebook, it`s a mad dash to try and get it to eject before the notebook sees the dvd and starts to boot from it.

When i look at the eject button on my currant notebook it only very slightly protrudes.

    John.

I agree with the OP. I've managed to eject my dvd drive only twice without looking in my Asus. My Toshiba fares better though cuz it has a button that protrudes more than in my Asus.

I completely agree. Long ago I gave up and just put a shortcut to my optical drive on the desktop. When I want to eject a disk I just right click and select "eject" from the drop down menu.

I also found a small program on the web called 'Eject' which I had pinned to my task bar but found the shortcut to the optical drive approach offered a few more benefits for me.

Of course the above doesn't help if you have to eject the disk in a hurry during a boot.
