Anyone else notice marks on their laptop's finish from where their wrists rest while typing? I've only had my gateway NX860XL for a few months, but there are already 2 spots where my wrists usually are that look like grease buildup or something, but they won't wipe away with any sort of cleaning product. Is there a way I can minimize this or get rid of the marks I have now?

thats from the sweat and dirt of your wrists, my inspiron 8200 had it. im much more careful now, ^^ either have some paper or small rubber sheets between your wrist and the laptop palm rests

It's the paint on the laptop that's wearing off/down, not a stain or anything. So there's no real way to fix it once the deed is done. But yes, you can minimize further damage by following lokster's suggestions.

I get the same thing with my keys on my laptop as well... sometimes it is just grease buildup but it can be wearing through the finish too.

your keys either start to be super shiny or fade out because of use.

if you type try to keep your fingers clean or get a keyboard protector.

I had the same thing happen on my Inspiron 9300. I've been more careful now though as I use an external keyboard/mouse for most of my work.

I've noticed that the gateways are very susceptible to the wearing at the wrists... But then again, the person using the gateway is a WoW addict.

Yes! And the external keyboard and mouse is the way to go.
