Im comparing the two models and apparently they are one in the same as far as the company goes.

The Freeagent requires a double usb connection vs the onetouch single connection.
The Freeagent says it has software that keeps all your information on that when hooked to a computer rather than having it all saved to the hard drive which I think would be ideal if using someone elses computer or a school computer.
Does the Maxtor come with the same software? They are more or less the same price but I love the look of the maxtor and like the single usb connection, but I also like the software advertised with the freeagent.

    what do you guys think?

Note: Maxtor uses a 2 USB connection as well.

It looks sleeker due to the metal casing, but scratches quite easily. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the

The Onetouch comes with it's own bundled software.

I have the Seagate FreeAgent 160gb.
The drive is fine, but the software that comes with it is awful. I installed it, then had it uninstalled in a matter of minutes.
Instead I'm using SyncToy which is a free download from Microsoft and is simple to use.
The design of the drive is nice. Not fingerprint magnet black like the WD drives...
