Some days ago I found something that seems to be like single 4gb stick the brand is smart modular, I know that this could be a 2 x 2gb ram kit but the description is pointing to a single stick... Btw I dont know if this is already posted so correct me if Im wrong.

What do you think?

Looks like it is a 4GB stick, however these are very rare since that's such a large amount to put on a stick. Just to be safe, I'd call up both places to make sure.

various rams sticks but this one is different. -
Most usually have a 4x2 configuration. One thing I noticed is that it says the OEM Manufacturer Equivalent Part Number is Apple MA940G/A, and so I'm kinda worried about who it's exactly for, laptops or Macs. Though since Dell is selling it, I'd say it'd have to be for laptops. Definitely give them a call to see if it's a 4GB stick that'll work with your machine.

Macs now use standard DDR2. Some use laptop memory (imacs, minis) so it might be apple manufactured and used other places.

2x2gb
Also, Smart Modular lists 2GB as the largest 200pin module they make. I went by using the MA940G/A oem part number which matches up with a bunch of 2x2 kits from a bunch of manufacturers. I believe that is a part number given by apple and manufacturers use it to correspond to working kits. Make sense? -
Ive only seen the kingston 4gb modules, its around $400-500

Could you give me a link to it? I would like to know the specs. Thanks in advance.
@ confusedsoul
Makes sence but then I guess these guys are wrong too.

same model, same numbers, look at the specs and see:

Just FYI...but Macs are the same as PCs. No if, ands, or butts. They all use DDR2 memory.
-
.
The new macs are more like pcs by now because they use intel parts to produce them instead of ugly powerpc processors, basically they are pcs... -

WOW, 600$ for a 4 Gb module. Jeeeesus.
-
-
By next year, the card will be like $100 max.
Memory drops in proce ridiculously fast.
When the 2gb memory cards were first released, they were like $200 each, and now you can get a 2gb card for $35.
The 4gb card will go down in price just give it some time for it to become mainstream.

Guys, that $625 is MSRP, but nobody pays MSRP, a lot of online stores are selling it for about $450.
-
The price will drop dramatically if it becomes mainstream. DDR3 is gonna take over, so i dont think it will have enough time
eg. The price of a 1gb PC2700 DDR RAM is still expensive for what you get.
Maybe 4gb single ram stick....
