Overclocked Core duo to 3.8ghz... Take a look at this! CRAZY! Calculated Super pi to 1M digits in a little over 15 seconds. That is possible with a -100*C cooling system. http://www.madshrimps.be/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23453
This is a new record that beat the P4 overclocked to 7.2ghz.

The core duo is so da** impressive! The T2500 is comparable to AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ > (even faster!)
I don't think Turion 64 x2 is going to be as good as core duo is.

P.S. - As I ran the test, the system properties only showed 1.59 GHz being used out of the reported 3.06. Anybody know what's up with that? -
Power saving is usually the culprit.
few things to check out:
1. bios for the correct multiplier (doubt it in ur case)
2. power management scheme
3. check to see if the manufacturer (or intel) has a newer processor driver that allows the power management according to SYSTEM/PERFORMANCE requirement and NOT power/battery requirement.
cheers ... -

I recently acquired an early DELL CpiA300 in pristine condition. For amusement I upgraded to Windows XP and wireless LAN. It does everything you might need, provided that you don't mind waiting! I thought it would be fun to run Super PI and share the shocking result:
DELL CpiA300 : 300Mhz Pentium II, 256MB PC100, 60GB(4200rpm), 12.1" SVGA 24bit colour, NeoMagic256AV

Can you beat this?
I also have a proper notebook.
SONY VGN-S3XP : 2.0Ghz Pentium M, 1GB PC2-4200, 80GB(5400rpm), 13.3" WXGA 32bit colour, 128M Go 6200

I am looking forward to bootleg2go sharing his table of results. -

Don't want to be a party pooper but pls remember SuperPI is not very accurate benchmark for CPU's. No way is a similar clocked core duo 70%+ faster than a pentium-m for single threaded applications. Its in the region of 10-30%... http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=2663&p=7

My first measurement (with adapter plugged in)--was 2 minutes and 19 seconds. However, it might have been faster had I not been running FF and had WMP open (no music playing).
My second measurement (with adapter unplugged)--was 2 minutes and 32 seconds. (This time I had FF and WMP turned off).
