First off, this is my first thread in the Forum. If i posted my concern on the wrong forum sub then pls moove it to a different area of the forum
To my Problem.
I did buy a used Medion Erazer x7817. I bought it as not working.
When i first started it, i could launch windows but couldnt install the Gtx 670m Driver. Nvidia told me that the driver isnt compatible with my Gpu.
After that error message i did build in the Gpu from my oher Laptop into the Medion.
The Gpu i build in the Medion is a Gtx 570m with a Msi Vbios. I was able to install the Gpu. In game i did get like 30 fps. This is like half of the Fps which i get usually with the grafic card from my Schenker Xmg P511 but i thought its related to the messed up windows because i used the same Harddisk for both laptops without reinstalling windows (I didnt install for example the chipset drivers)
Now i decided to keep the Medion x7817 and did a new Win7 installation with the above meantioned Gtx 570m due to it was already proofed that the 670m is broken.
But now after installing all drivers games do not recognize the Gtx570m . How ever i was able to install it regulaly without any problems. Device Manager do not show up any problems with the gtx 570m
Iam able to launch the Nvidia COntrol center and my Gpu is listed as Gtx 570m.
I tried to reinstall Hd4000 and nvidia Driver in the following order: Hd 4000 first then Nvidia drivers. It all didnt work.
Can someone help me with that problem? The gtx 570m is working fine with the Schenker Xmg p511.
Is it possible that the Medion Board is not programmed for a Gtx 570m?
Thx for all helps
Edit: i was even able to start the game with Nvidia Go force experince.
Edit2: i did choose the Nvidia Gtx 570m as the main Gpu on Nvidia control center. Seted up the Gtx 570m to handle the Nvidia physics. And iam not in power save mode. Ive chosen Max Power on the Nvidia Control center

welcome to nbr
i have no idea about medion but ive heard they are a rebranded msi.
some graphics cards might not work with official drivers if they are put in a laptop they were not designed for. this isnt saying it wont work though.
you might need one with a modified inf.
look here for modded nvidia drivers LaptopVideo2Go: NVIDIA & Laptop News -
Alright, thx for the answer but the Gtx570 from the Schenker p511 has a Msi vbios.I tried a gt555m aswell on the Medion x7817. Same odd problem. You can install the Gpu, No problem visible but the game performance is as if theres no Gpu. Game runs on Intel 4000 Graphics. If i deactivate the Gtx570m nothing changes Fps wise. The question is wether the X7817 is compatible with older Nvidia Gpu´s with Msi Vbios. WHy shouldnt it be comatible?

if its using the intel 4000 then you need to go into the nvidia control panel and make sure each game exe is set to use the dedicated card.
P511? whats is this as never heard of that model or is it a typo. -
Schenker xmg p511 is a msi gt 683 or a MEdion Erazer 6819.
Btw i started the game over the nvidia control panel. Aswel as over the nvidia force experience software. In both cases Intel Gpu ran the game instead the nvidia card. tested tat for 3 different games. Allways same result -
i have no idea then, sorry.
ive never had to change a card myself or touch the bios so have no idea what else to suggest. -
Heres a screen from my gpu usage when iam in a game menu (warthunder)
The Nvidia Gpu is been used but on 50Mhz Gpu clock instead 500.
Also i cant see some services in the task manager which have been meantioned in another thread
Cant see those 2 Nvidia Serices there
1. NVIDIA Driver Helper Service
2. NVIDIA Update Service Daemon.

Just ran Nvidia optimus Gpu state viewer and it shows my Nvidia Gpu as on.. Now iam really confused
-
i believe all nvidia processes that should be running are nvtray.exe (nvidia settings) , nvvsvc.exe , nvxdsync.exe , NvBackend.exe (geforce experience)
i suggest you modify yourself the .inf from a driver downloaded from nvidia website,
first unistall any remaining nvidia drivers
then go to their website, manually select your exact gpu model and download, once the setup is starting it should get an error, close it, and go to the folder where the files were extracted (NVIDIA folder in main driver by default)
then follow this guide
the gpu you try to replace with a msi vbios should be compatible with medion laptops ( i have one), however i don't have an intel chipset so i don't exactly know how optimus works and the options you are offered in the control panel -
Hello, littlebird2
I have exactly same problem with exact sympthoms,(x7817 downgraded with gtx570m-those laptops did not been produced with this card, x7817 stock version was with gtx670m) cant force nvidia to run any games or 3d using software - only intel 4000, nvidia is normaly visible in device menager, drivers instaled, temps are visible (msi afterburner kicks clock for a few secons as i hit apply - after few seconds clock goes down to 50mhz..).
I flashed motherboard with E1762IMS.30P, but it did not helped, did You managed to solve this frustrating problem to get this gtx working ? Only, thing left is to flash vbios from gtx 670m to this card (they are indentical as far as i know) I will be very gratefull for answer or help in that matter.
Best regards.
Medion Erazer 7817 downgraded to an 570Gtx. Now Games do not recognize the Gtx 570m
