MemoRight GT MR25.2-064S 2.5-Inch 64GB SATA SSD
For a little over a year now Benchmark Reviews has anxiously awaited the fabled Solid State Drive that could replace our current list of preferred Hard Disk Drives. Making this wait seem even longer was the fact that HDD manufacturers were constantly improving there product and adding new enhancements to the technology. First there was perpendicular storage, then came fluid bearings, and finally there was the increase in cache buffer DRAM. Performance has always been the hurdle that SSD's have had a tough time clearing, with read and write bandwidth creating the largest obstacles. Response time and reduced power consumption has been the key arguement for owning an SSD, but without the bandwidth throughput to measure up against HDD's they became an expensive niche item. That time has passed. After a long wait, Benchmark Reviews has discovered the MemoRight GT MR25.2-064S 2.5-Inch 64GB SATA SSD Solid State.

Welcome to Notebook review,
According to that site you posted, the new memoright drive is about the same speed as the M-TRON 7000 series drives.
les, should be able to give us a review of this soon, if he has not already. I havemt checked the ssd thread in a while.
SSD's still have another year or so before they become big. They are just being introduced into the mainstream laptop manufacturers options lists.
I would rather store my data on a Korean M-TRON because I'm K-TRON and it justs works.
Its like sunglasses and an old Stetson hat.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I'm not sure how you can consider the Mtron 7000 Pro anywhere near the speed of the MemoRight GT... especially since we reviewed them side by side with HUGE differences. Maybe you were referring to something different; I'm not sure.
You read the article, right? -
Das Capitoline, I presume that you work for benchmark reviews, if possible can you give hdtune results they are much easier to understand. I remember that Les aka Flamenko our SSD man has benched the M-TRON 7025 and at the time of the review it was the fastest SSD Drive:
I guess the new Memoright has a bit of advantage on the M-TRON drive. That is good competition is good for the consumer. Hopefully they help battle for the number one spot and cut some prices.
The drive looks pretty fast, but I prefer my 2 x 7K200 raid array in my laptop, its much faster than a single drive.
I cant afford ssd, my system emptied my pocket.
Youve got a nice site going, keep up the good work,

Good review and the site looks nice, but would you PLEASE set your page width at 1000 pixels! If you look at your server stats you'll find that most visitors are not running 1200 pixel width displays. Shoot for the lowest common denominator.
I was at work, stuck on a 1024x768 display, and was scrolling like a mad man! I think I have carpal tunnel syndrome now. -

AWESOME, i had NO IDEA that spamming NBR is now acceptable. mods are slipping hard.

I quit using HD Tune because their software doesn't offer write bandwidth speed tests, and it seems to give inconsistent results (3-5% differences instead of 0-3%). HD Tach seems to be more accepted, albeit harder to read at first. The cheat sheet of numbers to the right of the chart is more helpful than the chart itself.
