I have recently purchased a Sager 8170 with 4-2 gig SODIMS totaling 8 gigs. Should I decide to upgrade in the future with two 8 gig SODIMS, the new total would be 20 gigs. Question- does it really matter if the memory modules are different sizes such as what I listed 2-2gig and 2-8gig chips, and if so how? Also, can you mix and match memory speeds such as 2-2 gig 1333mhz with 2-8gig 1866mhz in a single machine, does it affect performance adversely?

    Thanks! :D

You can mix them, but the faster RAM will downclock to match the slower stuff so there's no benefit to doing this.
