I just purchased a HP DV1000 laptop and it came with 512MB. CNET says the RAM Technology is: SDRAM-266 MHz

I'm looking to go up to 1GB. I also have a DELL Coupon for laptop accessories that I would like to use. The RAM selector on the site asks you to specifiy a DELL laptop model. Do you know which would be the closest to my DV1000?

    Thanks,
    chikai

One more thing, CNET is not reliable source for such information. Download CPU-Z and look under the Memory tab, it will list the type of memory currenty in use in your laptop. HP used both DDR 266/333 and DDR2 533 memory, so depending on how old and other specifications of your system, the memory used will vary.
