I bought a new laptop(Vostro 1500) which has 1 GB RAM.
I bought 1 stick of OCZ 2 GB ram DDR2-667 PC-5400 Notebook Memory and i want install it.
i am a newbie to install and i believe that, there are 2 slots in Vostro 1500 i.e. with 2 sticks of 512 MB.
can i just replace 1 stick which is at the bottom level with 2 gb RAM and keep the remaining 512 MB stick (top level ) as it is ? will this work with 2 different combinations ?
can someone help me (with screen shots or any links) to upgrade / repalce a memory related to Vostro 1500 laptop?
Thanks

You are correct, that is the easy way replacing the memory on the bottom of the laptop. The other stick requires you removing the keyboard.
Flip the laptop over. You'll see the memory cover, remove the small phillips screws and remove the memory. Here's a guide on how to replace your memory.
