I recently added an extra gig of memory to my Compal HGL-30, which had 1 gig of PC2-5300 Corsair memory. I decided to go ahead with an unknown brand the shopkeeper had (bad idea, but I was kind of desperate to get the extra gig, and was "only" about 40 bucks), which comes up in CPU-Z as being from Nanya Technology.
I didn't bother to check the timings, which I think is causing a bunch of problems with a couple of games. Company of Heroes crashes in a specific cutscene, and I can't patch it (I checked in the CoH forums, one of the possible reasons is due to different timings in the memory). While CPU-Z says the timings are both the same (5-5-5-15), I'm not sure if these have been modified by the mobo to match.
If this problem is caused by the timings (I think it is, since the cutscene where it now crashes worked fine before adding the extra gig), is there a way to fix it without having to buy anything? If it's necessary I'll replace the no-name RAM with matching Corsair RAM (I didn't do this at first because I live in Mexico and it's hard to get technology here).
Thanks in advance

I would 1st remove the new ram run CPU-Z check the timings on the original just to see.

try one of those RAM diagnostic program to test for RAM errors. the timing shouldn't matter really
